Button Description


Voice Response

Accenda's friendly voice can tell you what button you have just pushed, even if you have difficulty seeing the remote control. This feature is exceptionally convenient when you are setting up Accenda as described on the following pages.

Once you have set up Accenda and are familiar with the button locations, you may turn off the voice response by pressing the [SOUND] button located inside the flip down keypad. Pressing this button will alternatively turn the voice response feature on and off.

Once you have set up Accenda, you can also train it to respond to your voice as described in the "Training and Using Voice Instructions" section of this user's guide.

Upper Buttons

The following buttons are located on the main body of the Accenda Remote Control near the top. Button names are enclosed in brackets.

[F1] - [F4]
Favorite Channel / Multi-Function buttons. [F1] - [F4] may alternatively be used as front panel volume and channel controls. When shipped, [F1] & [F3] are volume up and down, and [F2] & [F4] are channel up and down.

[POWER]
Used to turn your TV, VCR, etc. on and off.

[TV] [VCR] [CBL/SAT] [DVD] [AUX] [AUDIO]
Device Source Buttons, used to select the device to be controlled. For example, after pressing [TV], Accenda will control your TV. You may substitute devices, that is program devices on different buttons. Button will flash when Accenda is sending a command or being set up.

[MUTE]
Mutes the TV. Also used for Auto-Mute.

[LISTEN]
When used in voice mode, [LISTEN] is used to "wake up" Accenda from its power-saving "sleep mode" and tell it to listen for voice instructions. Pressing [LISTEN] when Accenda is "awake" will put it to sleep. The multi-function LED located behind the Listen button will flash different colors, depending on the specific operation.
Transport Control Buttons

The next group of buttons are located on an oval shaped elevated section about one third of the way from the top of the remote control.

[Pause] [rewind] [play] [fast forward] [stop]
VCR and DVD transport control. Also used for digital video-on-demand etc.
Volume and Channel Controls

Accenda's volume and channel buttons are located on the sides for exceptionally convenient hand-held operation. These buttons slide up and down for easy one-hand control. A set of buttons is located on both sides of Accenda to permit left-handed and right-handed operation.

[V+] [V-] [C+] [C-]
Volume up/down and Channel up/down.
Number Buttons

The numeric buttons are square and are located in the middle of the Accenda Remote Control.

[0] - [9], [ENTER]
Numeric selection keys.
dd>
[PREV]
Switches the selected source device to the previously tuned channel.
Bottom Buttons

The following buttons are located on the flip down door, and are active when the door is firmly closed.

Note: buttons on flip down door will vary with different models.
[TV/VCR] [GUIDE] [DIS] [EXIT] [MENU]
Function Buttons: Perform the desired functions on your entertainment devices.

[M-REC] & [M-PLAY]
To record a voice memoy press and hold the [M-REC] button. To play back a recorded memo, press the [M-PLAY] button.
Inside Buttons

The following buttons are located inside the flip down door, and are active when the door is open. These buttons are used either for set-up or advanced functions.
[SOUND]
Turns Accenda's voice response on and off. When on, each time you press a button, Accenda will respond with the button name, then perform the indicated function. When voice response is off, Accenda will operate silently.

[PIP]
Picture in Picture

[REC]
VCR Record. Press once to record.

[DISP]
Display. Also known as INFO by some systems

[SMART]
Smart Source. Smart Source is a unique feature that makes the Accenda simpler to use than traditional universal remote controls. Please see the "Smart Source" section of the user's guide.

[SLEEP]
Sleep

[SRCH]
Search. Enables auto-search, Scan, and other features.

[ALT]
Allows buttons to perform additional functions. When you see [ALT] followed by another button (for example, [ALT] [1]), press and release the [ALT] button, then press the [1] button.

[SHIFT]
See above

[LOCK]
Locks out menu and related set up buttons that require on-screen viewing. This prevents accidentally altering TV or Cable Box settings.

[L/MAC]
Learn favorite channels/multi-functions.

[PROG]
Used for setting up Accenda

[TRAIN]
Used for training voice instructions.
